Diabeties…..?

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

I have type 1 diabeties and I’m just a teenager. Is taking like 25 units of Novelog Insulin with 1 meal hazardous at all. Like if I have a high number and want to eat a little bit more?!

you need to talk with your doctor about how much insulin to take for how many carbs you’re eating. that is what you should base it on. i’m on the pump and take humalog insulin, but my carb to insulin ratio is 1 unit for every 9 grams of carbs. you should also have a ratio for bringing your sugars down to. like mine is 1 unit to every 30 points . so if my blood sugar was 200 and i’m aiming to be at 120 i’d’ take 2.6 units.

Sorting Laundry??

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Stupid question but I just want to know how people sort their laundry (eg darks, lights, whites, reds)
I can never seem to get the kind of “clean” I want nor can I get tough stains out!!

This is how i sort my laundry, whites (warm-hot), reds (cold), blacks (because of fading wash on cold), sheets (warm-hot), and towels (warm-hot), if it doesn’t fall in one of those categories then i throw the rest together and wash on warm or cold.
I use Tide (powder) detergent and then Shout if there is a spot that the Tide won’t take out.

What kind of detergent do you use? Do you use a special stain remover like shout or spray and wash?

——

Lights/whites, colors, reds, towels, sheets, and jeans. I use era and generally if I have a tough stain, a little rubbed into the spot. For specific stains, check out http://www.howtogetridofstuff.com

——

what you should do is use a stain remover before washing. after you scrub witht he remover, sort your clothes for washing. put whites only in one pile and use bleach and wash them hot, then take all gray and light colors and wash them warm. then take all dark clothes black, red, green, etc.. and wash cold.

Does dual cropping in the southern USA work? eg cotton-wheat, soy-wheat, milo-wheat?

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Just wondering if you could get a higher return per acre in the south with higher land utility.

Yes, it does work. There are some things that you have to consider when you are double cropping, however.
1. What kind of moisture will your crop demand next year? If it is a crop that puts a higher demand on moisture in the following year, go for a lighter demanding second crop.
2. What kind of root structure does the first crop have, shallow or deep? If you are double cropping into a grass plant, go with a deep rooted plant the will get moisture from where the other plant didn’t. I know in Kansas, Sunflowers are an option because the go get water up to 30 ft down.
3. Do you have no-till equipment? Can you get it? In a dry climate requires no-till at least on the second time. Either rent or secure that.
Does it pay? Yes, going by my figuring here in the extreme north here is what a soybean and wheat rotation will do financially.
Soybean- 45 (average farm yield)bushel per acre @ 8 dollar net profit. Is 360 dollars an acre.
Sp. Wheat- 30 bushels ( half of full season yield) @ 3 dollar profit. Is 90 dollars an acre,
360 + 90= 450 acre net profit.

There is alot of double-cropping going on in the southern U.S., but not cotton where I’m at. Maybe farther south. Our farmers will plant corn, harvest it in the fall then plant wheat, harvest it in June, and plant a shorter season corn. Milo will work also with less irrigation, but less options for weed control. There is alot of wheat following cotton, if it is stripped early enough.

How much should i weigh?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I have always struggled to keep my weight down and even though i eat exceptionally healthily the weight i lose always creeps back on again. I find the BMI calculators frustrating because they do not take into account body shape and i would like to know if anyone knows a more accurate way of calculating what is a healthy weight range.

i am currently 202lb (14st 9) and 5ft 7. I know that this is over what i need to be but here comes the other bit! I have the most massive boobs ever about 3 sizes bigger than Jordons and when i have lost weight in the past these have not gotten smaller which suggests that they are not made up of fat. I also have a large frame. Please could someone let me know or suggest a website that will give me a realistic and accurate weight range for my body shape?

Sorry! Forgot to say, im 23

I know a lot of women have a problem figuring out what their ideal weight should be for their body type and not just their height. Muscle and bones weigh more than fat does, and taller girls with larger frames naturally weigh more. If you can categorize your body type, then I found a site where some weights are listed according to both body type and height. According to that, a large framed female of your height should weigh around 143 - 163 lbs. Its not for all ages though, so if you would’ve stated your age it would’ve been easier. You may have some work to do, but I doubt its approaching obesity or anything.

Check out the link below

http://www.healthchecksystems.com/height… …………..

your 5ft 7in and you weigh 202 pounds your bmi is 31.6 that means in the obese range how old are you the ideal weight for your height is between 127 pounds and 159 pounds you should weigh between 123 pounds and 137 pounds
the normal bmi for females
18.5 to 23.6
http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/bod…
here is another website for you
weight/healthy_weight/bmi_calculator.h…
http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi….

………

Try fitday.com, first of all. The food calculator, and all those other tools are great.

BMI can be inconsistant, yes, but it’s problem, mainly, is taking into account bodybuilders, etc. People who can be a lot more dense. I know breasts and bone structure can make a difference, but it’s most likely negligable. It’s probably fairly accurate for you.

I mean, if you are 202 and 5′7, what are you expecting to find?

……..

See this Web site <>.http://www.caloriesperhour.com/>. However, your boobs *ARE* fat, the fact they don’t shrink means nothing. I have a friend who has shrunk from 28st to 15, but she has only gone from a 56LL to a 34J. She’s currently attempting to lose another 2st so that she can have a boob job on the NHS. My friend was told that her boobs weigh about a stone each!! They can calculate them at the hospital, apparently.

Maybe have a chat with your GP to see if the same could be arranged for you. It is possible because oversized boobs have other health implications - I bet you suffer from severe backache, don’t you..?

Can I be *REALLY* personal and ask what size bra you take…? You can email me if you don’t want to say here.

Dallas DWI Attorneys

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

You can be charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) if you are in control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, chemicals, or controlled substances to the extent that your blood alcohol level is above the legal limit. DWI and similar offenses are regarded as criminal law matters which could possibly result in felony conviction with a prison sentence. This is why you need to contact a Dallas DWI lawyer as soon as you are facing charges.

A professional DWI attorney will carefully review your case for defects. This can include a review of the calibration and maintenance records for breath machines, and having blood samples independently analyzed. They can negotiate for a lesser charge or reduced sentence and find expert witnesses for the trial. Your lawyer will also cover many things that an individual may overlook. A skilled lawyer can debate if the blood technician received adequate training, or if laboratory staff handled urine samples properly. Because the prosecution relies heavily on the results of breath, blood and urine tests, any discrepancy in the execution of these tests can bring them into question. For quality legal representation, contact one of the finest Dallas DWI attorneys today.

Tax Services are Available for Free

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Tax Services are available to those in need of assistance in the preparation and filing of their tax returns. Many of these services are actually available for free.

Free Services from the IRS

The IRS can be contacted either by phone, through their website or at their local offices. Materials and information are readily made available for free to taxpayers in need of clarifications or guidelines.

In addition, since the implementation of the Free File Program, federal returns and tax returns in certain states can easily be filed online. The IRS website has a list of affiliated companies included in the Free Program, and the taxpayer can avail of their services. Do take note that if you are not considered eligible to avail of the Free File program, companies usually charge a fee.

Taxpayer Assistance Centers

A more personalized approach is provided by taxpayer assistance centers. Should you wish to consult with a person instead of going on line or listening to pre-recorded voice messages, professionals in the TACs are available to render assistance in the preparation of your income tax returns and to answer any other questions you might have.

Community Volunteer Resources

Programs such as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly, in cooperation with the IRS, offer free tax preparation services in various communities. These services are available to taxpayers with low to moderate income.

What happens if the Dutch stuff Romania 4-0 and France draw with Italy?

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

If two or three teams are level on points it initially goes to a head to head - there won’t be any penalty shootouts after the France/Italy game, so you can ignore that previous answer.

Given your scenario, we’d had Romania, Italy and France level on points so you’ve have to draw up a mini table consisting solely of the games between the three of them. So we’d have…

Italy: P2 W0 D2 L0 F1+ A1+ GD0 Pts 2
Romania: P2 W0 D2 L0 F1 A1 GD 0 Pts 2
France: P2 W0 D2 L0 F0+ A0+ GD0 Pts 2

Obviously that doesn’t entirely take into account the result between France and Italy - if it’s a 0-0 draw then that would put Italy and Romania dead level for second based on the head to head records between the three countries, so then it would go down to overall goal difference over all three games: given your scenario, Italy would advance. If France and Italy have a score draw then unless Holland fail to beat Romania then Italy will advance irrespective of what the Holland/Romania score is (even if it’s 5-4 or something).

The logistical nightmare is that Romania lose 3-0 to Holland, and Italy and France draw 0-0. That would put Holland first, the remaining three level - France as we’ve established would finish bottom on the head to head records (so, by the way, they HAVE to win their last match whereas Italy and Romania could advance with a draw), Italy and Romania would be tied on head to head record, having also the same overall goal difference and matched on every other statistic, so you’d have a dead heat.

The process for seperation then goes as follows: as they aren’t playing each other in their final games, they can’t have a penalty shootout, making that last answer all the more ridiculous (the Czech Republic and Turkey match on Sunday WILL go to penalties in the event of a draw, without extra time).

The next seperator would be the average number of points scored per game in the qualifying for Euro 2008 and the 2006 World Cup. Over both campaigns, Italy played 22 and scored 52 points, Romania played 24 and scored 54 points, giving Italy an average on 2.36 points per game and Romania an average of 2.25 points per game, so Italy would advance.

In the unlikely event that that had been a tie, it would have gone down to fair play across the three group games, and after that UEFA would have had to draw one out of a hat.
